The BVAT (Federal Association for Planishing Technology and Hail Damage Repair) was founded on 03 February 2010 on the initiative of leading planishing companies and hail damage repairers.

The BVAT is meant to be a representation of interest of the companies operating in the German planishing and hail damage repair business.

Considering itself a 'Centre of Excellence', the BVAT strives to enhance the general acceptance of 'Soft Repair' and to further develop the pertaining technology in congruence with the continuous progress in car manufacturing.
